On September 9, 2021, President Biden issued an Executive Order which mandated COVID-19 vaccines for federal contractors and their subcontractors. (Please note that the order does not apply to grants.) While our initial findings indicate that it will affect a very small number of our employees working on or in connection with a federal contract, we continue to diligently review the language to ensure our campus is in full compliance.
Decisions related to enforcement will be made after obtaining a clearer understanding of the federal guidance and its implications. We will communicate directly with the employees who might be impacted and share updates with the campus community on the COVID website.
Please be reminded that if you have not previously submitted your proof of vaccination to the UNCG Employee Vaccine Portal, you can do so today. The University continues to test students and employees (faculty, staff, and temporary employees) as part of the mandatory testing policy for those who have not submitted proof of complete COVID-19 vaccination.
