Shield Our Spartans

Spring 2023

Dear Faculty and Staff,

The University’s Employee COVID-19 Vaccine Portal is now active and ready to collect employee vaccination records. As communicated on August 6, 2021, the University requires students and employees to submit vaccination documentation (i.e.,vaccination card) or participate in mandatory testing. The total number of students and employees who submit vaccination verification documentation will be added to the UNCG COVID-19 Case Dashboard in the coming weeks. The requirement to provide vaccination records or test regularly is part of our priority to Shield our Spartans during the COVID-19 pandemic.

To upload your proof of vaccination, log into the UNCG Vaccine Portal. This is a secure, encrypted portal that will require you to authenticate using your UNCG username and password.

You will need to be completely vaccinated to be exempt from testing. You are considered completely vaccinated following one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine or following the second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. You will have until September 30, 2021, to upload official documentation verifying you are completely vaccinated.

Starting in October, employees who have not uploaded proof of vaccination will be required to be tested, at no-cost to the employee. Employees who are not fully vaccinated will receive an email notifying them when they are required to get tested. The mandatory testing frequency will be no more than once a week and will depend on COVID-19 rates on campus and in the community.

If an employee enrolled in the mandatory testing program becomes completely vaccinated and uploads proof of vaccination into the UNCG Vaccine Portal, they will be removed from the testing program and will have no further testing requirements.

This requirement applies to all UNCG employees including faculty, staff, and temporary employees regardless of their physical work location. Employees who believe they may need an accommodation to the testing process should contact Patricia Lynch, pmlynch@uncg.edu, in the Human Resources Department, for assistance. If you have any questions regarding this program, please ask your supervisor, view our FAQs, or submit a question using the UNCG COVID-19 Questions Portal.

Getting vaccinated is the single most important thing you can do to protect yourself and others from the COVID-19 virus. The vaccine is available at Student Health Services. If you would like to make an appointment to receive the vaccine, please call 336-334-5340.
